I am a Colson Fellow
I recently concluded the Colson Fellows Program. It is a ten-month deep dive into the Christian worldview and as they advertise… to “become the kind of believer who understands how creation, fall, redemption, and restoration all go together to form the only true Story of the world. And then live it here and now.” I am a Colson Fellow.
The truth is, I didn’t know anything about the program or even know it existed before a friend called me and invited me to participate. And because I have a tremendous amount of respect for this friend, and because I have a tremendous amount of respect for Chuck Colson's ministry, I signed up. I paid the fee and started to read, watch, listen and think.
The monthly cohort meetings mean that it is done in the community. So I wasn't on an island with the materials. I got to see how it was affecting other people in their real-world lives. And they in turn got to hear how I was processing… and being processed. It's one thing to internalize content, but quite another to see, hear, taste, and smell it being externalized in my own life and in the lives of others.
I was challenged and I am changed. I don't want to tip off too much about what to expect or what is required. It's not really a secret, it's just better if each person experiences it all firsthand. But I do highly recommend the program to anyone and everyone who wants to live a more integrated life with Jesus. The Gospel isn’t a formula you apply to your life; it’s the Story you’re meant to inhabit.
